软木· 大自然的恩赐

软木，俗称栓皮，是植物木栓层非常发达的树种的外皮产物，一般指壳斗科栎（yuè）木属落叶乔木的橡树皮。橡树是世界上现存最古老的树种之一，距今约有6000万年历史，主要产于中国的秦岭，伏牛山地区和地中海沿岸（葡萄牙，西班牙等少数国家）。世界上只有橡树皮可以用来加工软木制品，橡树生长至20-25年后方可对树皮进行第一次采剥，采剥后树木会继续生长，新的树皮不会受到任何损伤，之后每隔9-10年再采剥，所以说软木是一种纯然环保的再生资源，在世界上也被授予“软黄金”的美誉。

The Cork· a gift of nature

Cork is the outer bark of the Oak tree. The oak tree is one of the most ancient trees in the world that has nearly six thousand years old history，mainly in China's Qinling Mountain, Funiu Mountain region and the Mediterranean region (Portugal, Spain and a few other countries). Once the oak tree has reached the correct level of maturity (typically 20-25 years), the first harvest of cork bark is removed from the tree, and trees are never cut down. After extracting the cork a new layer of cork starts generating. This process is repeated every nine years henceforth, at no time affecting the health of the tree. Cork is a purely environmentally-friendly renewable resource in the world, has also been awarded the "soft gold" in the world.

人类对软木的开发利用可追溯到大约2000年前，古希腊和古埃及人使用软木是用于封闭橄榄油或酒瓶子的塞子，渔网的漂浮物，运输船只的绝缘管，而北非人甚至把软木作为房顶的主要材料。十三世纪软木是葡萄牙的主要出口产品，而软木制品早已成为该国的支柱产业。近代以来世界软木制品发展迅猛，应用范围非常广泛，欧洲人对软木装饰材料情有独钟；科学家们更把软木应用于航空航天领域。上世纪初由欧洲传入我国，由荷兰人铺设在故宫和北京古籍图书馆的软木地板几经翻新至今保存完好，足见其品质之优良。在上世纪90年代末期，中国的少数软木企业开始生产在外国紧俏的软木地板和软木墙纸，经过近十年来的发展，中国软木地板在国际上已经占有了一席之地。
